What to Expect at Your First Hauser Diet Natural Medicine Appointment

All new patients must complete the online new patient packet. When you make your appointment you will then be asked to provide us with an email address. We will email you a user name and password to securely enter your new patient information. You may access the new patient packet from the following link. Just have your user name and password handy.

We must ask that you have this packet fully completed prior to coming to Caring Medical for your appointment. If you have trouble completing the packet, please contact us BEFORE your appointment. The schedule is very tight and we expect patients to come in with their New Patient forms completed in order to stay on schedule. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

While at Caring Medical

Arrival and Paperwork: Please arrive on time to Suite 600 on the 6th floor of the Medical Arts Building for your appointment. Because we see patients from all over the world, we run a pretty tight schedule. Arriving on time, or even a little early, will help make your appointment run smoothly. If you experience an unavoidable delay, please notify the office so that we can determine if we can alter the schedule to accommodate your appointment. We will do everything in our power to see you at your appointment time. Our Patient Director, Audrey, will be there waiting to greet you!

Welcome: You will receive an official welcome packet which provides you with information about the clinic. Upon receiving this packet, our staff will review your paperwork and answer any questions that you have, in addition to obtaining your insurance information so that we can submit a claim on your behalf, if you desire.

Medical History: A nurse or medical technician will obtain a detailed medical history, review your new patient packet, and obtain vitals signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and weight. Our staff is very knowledgeable and can also help answer some of your questions while waiting for the doctor to come in.

Patient Visit: The clinical assistant/nurse will be with you throughout your entire visit. He/she will take notes for you, if applicable, so that you can concentrate on what the doctor is saying.

Payment: After your visit with Dr. Hauser, you will be taken to the billing department to pay your bill. Remember that you will need to pay at the time of service. Caring Medical will provide patients with detailed invoice that they can submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement. The invoice will be marked asking the insurance company to send any reimbursement directly to you, the patient. If the insurance company inadvertently sends the payment to Caring Medical, we will promptly reimburse the patient in the form of a check. We are considered “out of network.”

Lab Testing: Let’s keep the visit moving along with one of the main aspects of the visit- Hauser Diet Typing and the Natural Medicine testing! Our full service lab is on the 4th floor. We specialize in very specific lab testing related to natural medicine, which some of these tests are included as part of your consultation package. For Hauser Diet Typing, you will need to have fasted from food (water is ok) for 10-12 hours. This test takes approximately 90 minutes, during which you can relax in the comfy recliners in our waiting area.

Nutrition Consultation: To make the most of your visit, many people choose to have their physician consultation, lab work, and nutritional consultation all on the same day. If this sounds like you, you will want to schedule an early morning consultation. This way there is enough time for you to meet with the nutritionist after the lab testing, to review your Hauser Diet Typing results and review your dietary recommendations.

Follow-up Appointment: Before leaving, you can also make your next appointment with our Patient Director, for Nutrition and/or with Dr. Hauser. It is usually best to make your appointment at this time, because otherwise, you may not be able to get the appointment time that you want, as the schedule fills up quickly.

Nutritional Supplementation and Books: The doctor may recommend some nutritional supplements to aid in your healing or overall health. The supplements can be purchased at the nutritional store Beulah Land Nutritionals, on the 4th floor of the Medical Arts Building.
