We wish those who celebrate the Judeo-Christian holidays a very happy Passover and Easter this weekend.
Passover and Easter share a lot in common and they frequently overlap.
We love that both festivals provide a message of Hope.
Passover, celebrated with a seder service and meal, is the Jewish festival celebrating the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt; and Easter is largely about the Passover, where the Last Supper could have certainly been an early seder where Jesus became the sacrificial Lamb.
In addition, Passover and Easter celebrate freedom from slavery.
The Passover helps to retell the story of God’s victory over the Egyptians, achieving freedom with God’s mighty hand of protection.
Easter provides the story of freedom and renewal through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
We pray that this holy season brings peace and renewal along with a time of reflection and new beginnings.
