Love is Always the Answer

Wow! What a difference a week can make, right? It just goes to show you that we all need to live our best lives, every day.

As most of you know, we sustained record-breaking hurricane Ian with massive storm surges and winds. Many people lost their lives. Many people lost everything they owned.

We are happy to report that the team at Caring Medical is all accounted for and safe. We along with our clinical manager, Marylou Cash, RN, and her husband John both rode out the storm while on Sanibel Island. We were all extremely scared but trusted in God that He would protect us. We felt the prayers of our family, friends, patients, and beyond. We are so grateful that so many people cared about us to pray. And call. And email. And text. We love you all.

We were evacuated by the US Coastguard helicopter (basket and all!) and the Cashes by boat. Our niece and nephew and their two dogs were with us and they are all doing well too – relatively speaking.

We want to just tell you, as we are on the other side now, facing massive rebuilding, that God sustained us and will sustain us through that storm and the one we are now facing. Love is the most powerful force, greater than hurricane Ian’s winds and surge.

Last week we spoke about agape love, God’s love. We cannot even express to you how thankful, grateful, and blessed we are to now experience agape love poured out onto us and our team. So many people are helping us get things done.

What is the status?

We need to get Caring Medical’s buildings up and operational as soon as possible because so many people are depending on us for their care. We had hoped to be open this week, as our impressive cleaning team and Office Manager Kristina and her husband Bryan got the mud and dirt cleaned up Friday and Saturday. But Monday, upon further inspection, we found that we need to do some deeper remediation due to water getting in – even though it was just a small amount. So, through God’s grace, we have had a team here starting Tuesday to get things up and running.

When you come into our center, you may see that things are not as perfectly beautiful as they usually are. But they will be. Eventually, by God’s grace, by and through the love of our patients, friends, and even strangers.

We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Love and hugs,

]
