February is often called the month of love. Everywhere you look, there are reminders—heart-shaped chocolates, Amazon deals, handwritten cards, and grand romantic gestures. It’s a season that celebrates connection, affection, and the joy of being known by another person! And while romantic love is beautiful and 100% worth celebrating, February also invites us to pause and ask a deeper question: what kind of love truly lasts?

Human love, no matter how sincere, is limited. It can be strong, passionate, and meaningful, but it can also be imperfect. People can disappoint us. Circumstances shift. Relationships change. Even the best love stories experience moments of strain, misunderstanding, and loss. That reality doesn’t diminish love’s value—it simply reminds us that our hearts were made for something even greater. Jesus!

This is where February becomes more than a romantic holiday season. It becomes an opportunity to reflect on the ultimate, unconditional love found in Jesus Christ. Unlike human love, His love does not depend on performance, perfection, or reciprocity. Scripture reminds us that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” His love meets us exactly where we are—messy, broken, hopeful, and searching.

Jesus’ love is constant even when life feels uncertain. It is patient when we fall short and faithful when we struggle to believe we are worthy of love at all. His love has no expiration date, no unmet expectations and no fear of abandonment. He doesn’t love us for what we can give Him; He loves us because we are His! How good is that!?

So, this February (and throughout the year), as you celebrate love in its many forms—romantic, familial, and friendship—consider also embracing the love that never fades. The love that restores, redeems, and holds steady through every season. In Jesus, we find not just a feeling, but a promise: a love that is unconditional, sacrificial, and everlasting!!
