Did you know that today is National Doctor’s Day! The first Doctor’s Day was observed on March 30, 1933, in Winder, Georgia. This first observance included mailing greeting cards and placing flowers on the graves of deceased doctors.
“A good physician treats the disease, a great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” Dr. William Osler, co-founder of John’s Hopkins Hospital, who created the first residency program for specialty training of physicians and the first to bring students out of the lecture hall and to the bedside for clinical training.
Dr. Osler became known as America’s best diagnostician and was in great demand for consultations and received requests from all over the country. He also said, “The practice of medicine is an art, not a trade; a calling, not a business; a calling in which your heart will be exercised equally with your head.”
We are so thankful for our Caring Medical physician, leader, innovator, encourager, and friend! Your passion for truth is inspiring.
Dr. Hauser, you continue to forge on to find the best diagnostics and treatments for our patients. For this we are grateful.
