Smoothies provide protein, carbs, and energy for a post workout recovery meal or to make for a quick breakfast for any member of the family. Marion and her friend Mandi love this recipe that they make for their post workout meal. Some of our staff members make this with their children and they too love it and have fun making it in the mornings before school!

It has the perfect blend of savory and sweet, but not too sweet. Give it a whirl!

What you need:

  • 2 scoops pea protein powder, (Orgain Organic Plant-based protein is our favorite)
  • 1 scoop Collagen protein powder, (NuNaturals Collagen Peptides)
  • 1 Tbsp nut butter (we like peanut butter and almond coconut butter)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (we like to freeze fresh spinach)
  • 1 banana, frozen and broken into 4ths
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups of plant milk (we use organic soy milk because it has the highest protein content of the plant milks)
  • 2 shots espresso

What to do:

Add all the ingredients to a blender and pulse until smooth. Add more liquid to thin the smoothie if needed. Makes two hearty servings or 3 smaller servings.

*Try other fruits such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries or pineapple too. We like them frozen – as we are from Florida, so we need to cool off after our workouts!
